Copper Busbar 200A with M10 Terminals

The 200A Busbar is designed for reliable and organized distribution of electrical power between multiple circuits and loads. It is suitable for DC electrical systems in cars, camper vans, caravans, boats, solar and battery systems, inverters, auxiliary equipment and various electrical projects.

The busbar uses a solid copper conductor measuring 19 × 2.4 mm with a cross-sectional area of 45.6 mm². The large copper cross-section provides low electrical resistance and minimal voltage drop when carrying high currents.

The copper bar has an overall length of 112 mm and features main M10 high-current terminals for connection with suitable cable lugs.
Organized Power Distribution

Electrical systems with multiple loads often require several cables to be connected to a single battery terminal. This can make installation, maintenance and the addition of new circuits more difficult.

A busbar allows the main power cable to be connected to one central distribution point, from which power can then be distributed to individual circuits and electrical loads.

Example positive circuit:

Battery (+) → Fuse → Red Busbar → Individual Loads

Example negative circuit:

Battery (–) → Black Busbar → Negative Wires of Individual Loads

This provides a cleaner, more organized electrical installation that is easier to inspect and maintain.
45.6 mm² Copper Busbar

The current-carrying element is made of copper with the following dimensions:

19 mm width × 2.4 mm thickness

This provides a cross-sectional area of:

45.6 mm²

Copper offers excellent electrical conductivity and is particularly suitable for power distribution busbars used in high-current electrical systems.

The busbar is designed for currents of up to 200 A, making it suitable for a wide range of low-voltage DC electrical systems.
M10 High-Current Terminals

The main high-current studs are M10. Their large contact area allows the use of heavy-duty cable lugs and large cross-section conductors.

It is important to distinguish between the terminal size and the cable cross-section:

M10 indicates the thread size of the terminal and does not mean a 10 mm² cable.

The cable lug must have a hole suitable for an M10 terminal, while the cable cross-section should be selected according to the maximum current, cable length, acceptable voltage drop and installation conditions.
Red and Black Busbar

The busbars are available in two colors, allowing clear identification of the positive and negative sides of the electrical system:

Red Busbar – typically used for the positive (+) circuit.
Black Busbar – typically used for the negative (–), GND or ground circuit.

Using separate red and black busbars makes wiring easier to identify and helps reduce the possibility of connection errors during installation or maintenance.

The housing color is intended for visual identification and does not change the electrical characteristics of the busbar.
Transparent Protective Cover

The current-carrying bar and terminals are protected by a transparent protective cover. It allows visual inspection of the connections while reducing the possibility of accidental contact with live conductive parts.

This is particularly important when the busbar is used on the positive side of a battery system, where accidental contact between a metal tool and ground could cause a short circuit.
Suitable for Various Applications

The 200A Busbar can be used in:

automotive electrical systems;
camper vans and caravans;
boats and yachts;
solar power systems;
battery systems;
dual and auxiliary battery systems;
DC distribution panels;
inverter systems;
car audio systems;
industrial and specialized machinery;
auxiliary lighting systems;
various low-voltage DC installations.

Advantages of Using a Busbar

A busbar provides a cleaner and more serviceable electrical installation. Instead of stacking multiple cable lugs directly onto a battery terminal, the main power connection is routed to a central distribution point.

centralized power distribution;
cleaner and more organized wiring;
easy addition of additional circuits and loads;
easier troubleshooting and maintenance;
reduces the number of cable lugs stacked on battery terminals;
clear organization of positive and negative circuits;
protected current-carrying components;
reliable connection when properly selected and crimped cable lugs are used.

Installation

The busbar has mounting holes at both ends of the housing and can be securely installed on a suitable stable surface.

For a reliable electrical connection, high-quality crimped cable lugs suitable for the terminal size and conductor cross-section should be used.

Contact surfaces should be clean and the nuts properly tightened. An insufficiently tightened connection can increase contact resistance and cause localized heating.

After completing the installation, the protective cover should be fitted over the busbar.
Important Information for Positive Circuits

The busbar is a power distribution component and does not replace a fuse.

When connected to the positive terminal of a battery, the main supply cable should be protected by a correctly rated fuse installed as close as practical to the power source.

Individual outgoing circuits should also be protected according to the cable cross-section and electrical requirements of the connected loads.

Important

The specified 45.6 mm² refers to the cross-sectional area of the copper busbar itself.

The M10 specification refers to the size of the main high-current terminals and determines the required hole size of the cable lug. It does not determine the cross-section of the cable.

The cross-section of the supply and outgoing cables must be selected according to the current of each circuit, cable length, acceptable voltage drop and installation conditions.

Always use appropriate fuse protection on positive DC circuits.
